Hello, my name is Cecil Chapman, and I started this business as a sole proprietorship venture after over 30 years experience building and doing repairs for myself, friends, and family. I am a fully licensed business registered under both Federal, and North Carolina law. For me rod building isn't just a hobby, but is what I do.
I started building rods commercially in 2005, and have overwhelming positive feedback, with many of my customers coming back for additional rods. Nearly all of these rod owners are telling me they are recommending rods to all their fly fishing friends, and I have had several sales just from that. Locally based professional fly fishing guide Jeff Wilkins has four rods being used in his guiding business, and that has also led to several more sales. I have sold 7 rods at streamside just by allowing other anglers the chance to cast one of them. My motto is "Try me and you will want to buy me." So far this has held pretty well true.

Rod building is a passion, but I am also an avid fly tyer as well. One of my well known favorites is the Wickham's Nymph (pictured above). I developed the Wickams Nymph in 1978 while fishing the stillwater lakes of England, and which I published an article about in the 1979 Spring Issue of the British magazine, International Fly Fisher.
I estimate that I have caught well over 2000 trout on this pattern over the years since. This pattern is effective for me throughtout the year in every water where I've fished it. I attribute much of its fish appeal to the movement of so many of its parts, duplicating the natural actions of a struggling nymph. I sent a few of these nymphs to well know angler Davy Wotten in Arkansas a few years ago, and got a nice letter in return, stating that he had used them on the White River and had a very good day. Another friend of mine has twice taken some to Colorado and caught trout with them on the Roaring Fork.
I normally tie this fly in sizes 14-18, (weighted & unweighted), in brown, olive, sulphur, and black, representing most of the underwater goodies. Although not a commercial tyer, I do sell these flies at $21.20 per dozen at special request. If you'd like some of my Wickams Nymph, contact me here .
Whether you order a rod from me or not, my parting wish to you is this, "May you cast your fly upon many waters, and your boots leave peaceful tracks along their shores".........
